national portrait gallery {set up}

Present Tense Exhibition – National Portrait Gallery : Canberra.
‘An Imagined Grammar of Portraiture in the Digital Age’.
22 May – 22 August, 2010.

Exhibiting: Stellarc, Julian Opie, Loretta Lux,Patricia Piccinini, Osang Gwon,
James Dodd, Juan Ford, Justine Khamara, Rineke Dijkstra, Chuck Close.

It was a complete honour to do an installation at the NPG last week. Working with
amazing assistants and curators and resources, being able to see how carefully
work is handled. It’s overwhelming to see how hard these institutions work to
facilitate artists, and how much respect they show to the work exhibited. Wow wow.
I’ll have more photos of the finished piece when they come through. xm.

These two paste ups have been bought by the National Gallery of Australia.
To be exhibited in October, and then to be archived in the gallery collection. It feels
odd to do with street work, but an honour as well.
